iGaming in Tanzania is regulated by the Gambling Board. The body licences both online casinos and sports betting. In September, the country's authorities introduced a revolutionary amendment to prevent corruption in gambling, sports, entertainment and elections. Thus, those convicted of corruption in these areas will face huge fines and/or imprisonment of three to five years.

Moreover, the bill expands the powers of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), allowing the country's public body to cooperate with a large range of private sector actors: private companies, civil society organisations, religious institutions, professional councils and educational institutions.

Tanzania was demonstrating a new approach that could well serve as a model for other African countries. Focusing on integrity in gambling, especially in the country's priority betting sector.
