♂ Thailand arrests former muay Thai champion for running a g2g69bet with a turnover of $3.1 million
Thailand's cyber police arrested eight people, including former Muay Thai champion Virapong «Puenkon Tor.Surat», for running an illegal online casino «g2g69bet». The site had an annual turnover of more than $3.1 million. Police raided nine locations in Chonburi and Lamphun provinces, detaining administrators and payment processing operators.
Weerapong admitted to running the site for more than three years as an extra income, after his boxing career ended, making it his main source of income. All detainees are charged with organizing illegal iGaming activities and money laundering.
Weerapong held the Rajadamnern Stadium title in the 52kg weight class and was named 2016 Fighter of the Year by Sports Authority of Thailand and Siam Kela.
