More than 7,000 people in India have lost their jobs in the iGaming segment since October 1, 2025
And it has to do with the RMG ban, which has been hotly debated in the industry for the past few months. It's known, that the bill has passed the upper house of Parliament and now needs to be signed by the President to come into effect. However, there has been no public announcement of this. In addition, already at this stage the Indian authorities received many lawsuits about the unfairness of this ban from interested parties, which, to put it mildly, gets on the authorities' nerves.
The response is symmetrical: raids on IT offices where iGaming-related employees work, arrests and other delights. Naturally, with corruption seasoning and the joys of isolation centers in sunny India.
Against this background, of course, responsible employers actively take measures to protect their employees: they either take them out of the country, fire them, or do some other tricks. Thus, already more than 7 000 people in the country have lost their jobs, and the industry has reportedly already lost the $840m.
The major players promptly adapted to the new realities and continue to work in spite of everything.
