FanDuel follows DraftKings into the prediction market
The company will launch a standalone FanDuel Predicts app as early as next month.
In August FanDuel. concluded partnership agreement with the world's largest derivatives exchange CME Group, licensed by the CFTC, which opened the way for the operator to enter this market.
Due to regulatory uncertainty, FanDuel Predicts will only operate in states where sports betting is not legalized.
FanDuel's main competitor, DraftKings operator DraftKings, announced its entry into the prediction market last week.
Until a few years ago, the event contract market remained niche and almost nobody was interested in it. But over the last year the situation has changed. The largest operators in the industry have rapidly joined the fight for leadership in the new segment. Here, of course, the U.S. presidential election in the fall of 2024 has made its own impact.
