New betting tax will cut budgets of Russian regions
In 2026, Sverdlovsk region will lose 7.2 billion rubles due to the redistribution of taxes from the betting sector. These funds will go to the federal budget for the first time - such a transfer is stipulated in a new draft law, which is currently being considered by the regional zakzobranchy.
Previously, taxes from bookmakers were fully paid into the regional treasury and provided one of the most stable sources of income. In the last three years the region received 7.2 billion rubles annually from companies operating in the Middle Urals.
Now all gambling tax revenues will be centralized at the federal level. For the region, this means the loss of a significant part of revenues, which in fact is already included in the budget model of previous years.
