Optimizing for FastSearch. Part 2.
Creating hub pages for comparative and «long» queries
FastSearch and RankEmbed are strong on «long» queries. Create pages that answer just such queries, doing so in as structured a way as possible.
Example 1: Response page to the query «which kettle to choose for green tea»
Caption Best electric kettles for brewing green tea
Short answer (for AI Overview): «For green tea, temperature-controlled kettles are ideal, allowing you to heat the water to 70-80°C. Bosch TWK7203 and Philips Avance HD9359/90 are optimal models due to their multiple temperature settings.»
Comparison Table:
Add a question and answer block labeled with the appropriate diagram.
Q: «Why is temperature important for green tea?»
О: «...»
Q: «What is the best kettle material?»
О: «...»
Example 2: Response page for the query «quietest electric kettle»
Caption Ranking the quietest electric kettles of 2025
Short answer (for AI Overview): «The quietest kettles are those with double walls and up to 2,000 watts of power. The leaders in terms of low noise are models with the Quiet Mark, such as the Braun PurEase WK 3110.»
Comparison table showing noise level (if data available) or qualitative assessment.
«Grounding» authority for AI
AI Overviews should trust your source. Add signals that the machine can interpret as evidence of trustworthiness.
Links to primary sources: On the product page, link directly to the manufacturer's official page (e.g. Bosch.com).
Links to certificates: If the kettle has safety certificates (EAC, CE), provide links to documents or references to these.
Quoting instructions: Provide accurate quotations from the user manual by function.
So, what's the difference between traditional SEO and optimizing for FastSearch:
The advent of AI Overviews creates a new paradigm for optimization. Instead of being the best storyteller for humans, you must become the best database for a machine. The strategy is to make your content so easy for machine analysis and fact extraction that it will be more cost-effective and faster for Google to use you as a source for its generative answers than to analyze less structured competitor sites.
