Rising taxes for TSUPIS BKs: what does it mean for the web?
Yesterday, all iGaming-publications posted the news: the Russian State Duma has finally passed the bill on raising taxes for bookmakers.
Now. Pay will be 7% from GGR (the difference between the winnings paid out and the players' bets) + + 25% income tax.
Compared to what they wanted to adopt before, it looks even milder. The Ministry of Finance demanded 5% from turnover, not from GGR + the same 25% of net profit. But still the tax burden is doubling, if not tripling.
We also noticed that articles about bookmakers' super profits in Russia began to appear synchronously. For example, on November 18, RBC reports:
«The total turnover of the largest bookmakers in 2024 grew by almost 43 percent to reach 1.7 trillion rubles. In 2025, bookmakers» revenues in Russia are expected to exceed two trillion rubles.".
А fountain the news links to an article about, «how offices skirt the law, divert super profits to offshore accounts overseas and ruin lives.».
It reads, «It's time to take the money from the bloodsuckers.» But that's government business. What it all means to the affiliate is this:
- You did not expect big payouts from CUPIS BKs, and don't expect them. Revshara can be frozen, CPA can cut off traffic.
- The first thing bookmakers are saving on is bonuses for players. And this means that the bonus approach is smoking around the corner, it will become more difficult to attract customers.
- It is only a matter of time before more players go offshore. You don't need to be Vanga to predict it.
