In Iraq, parents are recording an increase in cases of teenagers spend money for gambling in the mobile game «Ludo King» through private rooms. Haidar al-Shammari, 17, told Shafaq News that he spent $4,800 in game rooms with entry for $17-34 that open after midnight. Some players bet up to $100 in a single game. A 14-year-old girl from Baghdad stole money from her mother to replenish her gaming balance.
Iraqi authorities have already recorded cases of fraud and extortion related to Ludo. In 2023, a man killed his wife after an argument over the game.
