Licence Description

Timing

Compared to other offshore jurisdictions, an Anjouan license can be issued quite quickly, within 3-5 weeks, provided that the documents and data are submitted on time and without errors.

The process of obtaining a license

  • Stage 1: Application through Anjouan Licensing Services Inc (includes filling out forms, providing standard documents for the company and key persons).
  • Stage 2: Document verification including business plan, RNG certificates, proof of domain ownership and minimum responsible gambling and AML measures.
  • Stage 3: Licensing (upon successful verification, the license is issued within the specified timeframe).

Requirements

The license is suitable for companies registered in any jurisdiction except those on sanctions or FATF blacklists.

Minimal economic presence requirements (e.g. no local incorporation obligations).

Customer and transaction data must be replicated on a server in Anjouan.

Financial costs

Initial costs are around €30,000-40,000, including company registration and related services.

The annual cost of maintaining the license is around €20,000.

Comparison with Curaçao license

Anjouan provides more flexible and affordable conditions compared to Curaçao.

Regulation is less strict, making the transition more convenient. However, the Anjouan license has less reputational value, especially among affiliates and major market players.

Switching from a Curaçao license to an Anjouan license can indeed be called a relatively easy process. However, its success depends on the company's willingness to do minimal paperwork (document collection, compliance) and its ability to convince its partners of the reliability of the Anjouan license. With a prepared infrastructure and experience in dealing with regulators, the process can take less than two months.
