More about gambling regulation
iGaming in the country is authorized and regulated by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
Peru's legal iGaming market will launch in February 2024. Recently, the regulator published a list of licensed operators from 64 companies. In addition, it became known that operators will have to pay a new excise tax of 1% of the amount of each bet.
The industry's response to the new tax in Peru was obviously negative. However, this innovation, in the end, does not outweigh the desire of operators to start operating in the legal iGaming sector of the country, where the licensing conditions are quite acceptable ($3.4 million per license and 12% tax on GGR), and there is a dominant percentage of gamblers who prefer to make relatively large bets.

Slots hold the leading position among online casino games. Next come blackjack, roulette and baccarat.
The potential of the iGaming market in Peru is huge, given the stable demand of the population for gambling. This is confirmed by the fact that the list of licensed operators in the country includes such international leaders of the iGaming industry as bet365 and Stake.
Peru has recently introduced an 1% excise tax added to the already established 12% tax on gross gambling revenue.
In the context of increasing competition both within the iGaming sector of the country and in the international gambling arena, such changes in tax policy, given that the industry has just started its activity, may discourage possible investments, but not reduce the interest of iGaming operators to expand their activities in Peru. Since the country has a numerically predominant gambling population and offers acceptable conditions for licensing: operators are not subject to general sales tax (IGV) and the cost of a license is $3.4 million.
